3. Quotes and Estimates

All quotes provided by Affordable Security Shutters, whether delivered verbally, by email, or through a written proposal, are estimates and are non-binding until confirmed in a signed project agreement. Pricing may change based on actual site conditions discovered during the on-site consultation, changes in measurements or project scope requested by the customer, material availability or manufacturer price adjustments, and any additional work required to meet local building codes or permit requirements. Quotes may include an expiration date, after which the pricing is no longer guaranteed. Final pricing, scope of work, and payment terms will be confirmed in writing before any work begins. No work will commence without a signed agreement between both parties.

4. Payments

Payment terms are outlined in your individual project agreement. In general, a deposit is required before materials are ordered and work is scheduled. The remaining balance is due according to the schedule specified in your agreement, which may include a payment upon delivery of materials and a final payment upon completion of installation. Late payments may result in work being paused or delayed until the account is current. We reserve the right to charge reasonable late fees as specified in your project agreement. We also reserve the right to suspend or cancel services entirely in cases of non-payment. Accepted payment methods will be communicated at the time of your agreement.

5. Financing

Affordable Security Shutters may offer financing options through third-party financing partners. If you choose to finance your project, the financing agreement is between you and the financing provider. We are not a lender and do not control the terms, interest rates, or approval criteria of any financing arrangement. All financing is subject to credit approval by the financing provider. Please review the financing provider’s terms and conditions carefully before accepting any financing offer.

6. Scheduling and Installation

Installation dates are scheduled based on availability and are confirmed in your project agreement. While we make every effort to meet agreed-upon timelines, installation schedules may be affected by weather conditions, material shipping delays or manufacturer lead times, permit processing times, unforeseen site conditions discovered during installation, and circumstances beyond our reasonable control. You agree to provide reasonable and timely access to the property on the scheduled installation date, including ensuring that the work area is clear and accessible. If you are unable to provide access on the scheduled date, please notify us at least 48 hours in advance so we can reschedule. Failure to provide access without advance notice may result in rescheduling fees. We will communicate any delays or schedule changes to you as early as possible.

7. Cancellations and Refunds

If you wish to cancel your project after signing the project agreement, cancellation terms will apply as outlined in that agreement. In general, deposits are non-refundable once materials have been ordered from the manufacturer, as security shutters are custom-fabricated to your specific measurements and specifications and cannot be returned or resold. If cancellation occurs before materials are ordered, a refund of your deposit may be issued at our discretion, less any costs already incurred for site visits, measurements, or administrative work. Refunds, if applicable, are handled on a case-by-case basis and will be processed within a reasonable timeframe. If we cancel or are unable to complete your project for any reason within our control, you will receive a full refund of any payments made.

8. Warranties

Product Warranties

Product warranties are provided by the original manufacturer and vary by product type and brand. Warranty terms, coverage periods, and claim procedures will be provided to you at the time of purchase or upon request. Affordable Security Shutters will assist you in processing manufacturer warranty claims when applicable, but we are not the warrantor for manufacturer defects.

Workmanship Warranty

We stand behind the quality of our installation work. Specific workmanship warranty terms, including the coverage period, will be clearly stated in your project agreement. Our workmanship warranty covers defects in installation that are attributable to our work.

What Warranties Do Not Cover

Neither product warranties nor our workmanship warranty cover damage resulting from misuse, abuse, neglect, or accidents after installation, normal wear and tear over time, unauthorized modifications, alterations, or repairs performed by anyone other than Affordable Security Shutters or an authorized service provider, damage caused by acts of nature including but not limited to earthquakes, floods, or extreme weather events beyond the rated capacity of the product, or failure to follow recommended maintenance or operating procedures.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Affordable Security Shutters, its owners, employees, and contractors shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of our website or services. This includes, without limitation, loss of revenue, loss of profits, loss of business, or loss of data, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total aggregate liability for any claims arising from or related to our services shall not exceed the total amount you paid to us for the specific service or project giving rise to the claim. You are also responsible for obtaining any necessary permissions from property owners, landlords, or homeowners associations before work begins. If you are a tenant, you represent that you have authorization from the property owner to have security shutters installed. We are not responsible for delays, additional costs, or complications that arise from undisclosed property conditions, inaccurate information provided by the customer, or failure to obtain necessary permissions. If undisclosed conditions are discovered during installation that require additional work, materials, or time, we will notify you and provide an updated scope and cost estimate before proceeding.

11. Photo, Video, and Marketing Use

Unless you notify us otherwise in writing before or during installation, you grant Affordable Security Shutters permission to photograph and video-record our completed work at your property for use in our marketing materials, including but not limited to our website, social media accounts, print materials, case studies, and advertising campaigns. We will not include personally identifiable information such as your name, exact address, or likeness without your separate written consent. If you prefer that we do not photograph or feature your project, simply let us know before or during the installation and we will respect your request. You may also revoke this permission at any time by contacting us in writing.

12. Force Majeure

Affordable Security Shutters shall not be liable for any delay or failure to perform our obligations under these terms or any project agreement if the delay or failure results from events beyond our reasonable control. This includes, without limitation, natural disasters, pandemics, government orders or restrictions, supply chain disruptions, manufacturer delays, labor shortages, transportation disruptions, fire, flood, earthquake, or other acts of nature. In the event of a force majeure situation, we will notify you as soon as practicable and work with you to reschedule or adjust the project timeline. Neither party shall be held in breach of agreement for delays caused by force majeure events.

13. Intellectual Property

All content on this website, including text, photographs, images, graphics, logos, branding elements, page layouts, and design, is the property of Affordable Security Shutters or is used with permission from its respective owners. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, modify, display, or create derivative works from any content on this website without our prior written permission. We reserve the right to refuse or terminate service at any time and at our sole discretion for violations of these Terms of Service, unsafe working conditions at the project site, non-payment or failure to adhere to agreed-upon payment terms, abusive, threatening, or harassing behavior toward our staff or contractors, or any other reason we deem necessary to protect our business, employees, or other customers. If we terminate service for reasons within our control and unrelated to your conduct, we will refund any payments for work not yet completed.

17. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Affordable Security Shutters, its owners, officers, employees, and contractors from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, or expenses (including reasonable attorney’s fees) arising out of or related to your breach of these terms, your misuse of our services or products, any inaccurate information you provided to us, or your violation of any applicable law or regulation.
